Happy Birthday!
Sunday 13th March: a foggy morning turned into a beautiful spring day. It was a perfect day to cater for our first event and a very happy day to have a birthday party! This was a ‘Pizza and Pudding’ party for a very special first birthday celebration; we supplied the pizzas and the birthday boy’s granny provided the puddings!
I don’t mean to be typically British and talk on about the weather, but we really were so lucky. The sun really did have ‘its hat on’, which meant that the guests could enjoy a little al fresco pizza nibbling without the need for a cagoule, umbrella and wellingtons!
Three different toppings were chosen for this event: the classic margherita; ham, mushroom and smoked mozzarella; and goat’s cheese, caramelised onion and rocket. As this was a first birthday party, we also made a child-friendly margherita with no salt added to the dough mixture; this was a little bland for adult tastebuds, but it went down well with the children! These were all served buffet style from the van so everyone could help themselves to as many slices as they fancied. It was a lovely atmosphere and a wonderful day!
